Release schedule rumors

Warhammer: Glottkin continues the epic saga begun in Warhammer: Nagash. This terrifying new chapter in the history of the Old World is revealed over two mighty hardback tomes which are presented together in a sturdy slipcase.

Warhammer: Glottkin Book 1 is a 128-page volume which provides a narrative sweep of the events surrounding the Chaos invasion of the Old World led by the Brothers Glott.

Warhammer: Glottkin Book 2 is a 64-page volume that contains six new scenarios and new rules based on the events in Warhammer: Glottkin Book 1. It includes the rules that will allow you to field the Glottkin, Maggoth Lords, Gutrot Spume and the Putrid Blightkings in your games of Warhammer. It also includes all-new rules for Karl Franz Ascendant (who is changed by the horrors of the End Times, but you will have to read the book to find out more) and Festus Empowered.

Armies of the End Times can field more Lords - up to 50% - and there are brand new rules for fighting battles in the streets of war torn cities. The new army list - The Legions of Chaos - allows you to create a unified army of Chaos drawn from Warriors of Chaos, Daemons of Chaos and Beastmen

Harry wrote "HUMANS", and since he always chooses words very carefully ( one year ago he wrote "are we at the end times?") we can be sure that there will be a new human faction, far from the usual fantasy stereotypes.
Maybe that will include some old classics like stanks or demigryphs, but expect lots of new stuff.

Some of the End Time spells I deciphered from the WD with my aging eyes:

Metal: Unit gains 2+ Ward Save until caster next magic phase.
Beast: S3 Vortex, I don't remember seeing any other special rule for it.
Can't remember the lore: Healing Vortex, heals 2D6+1 wounds worth of models if I remember correctly, has a long explanation regarding how it works, only thing it can't raise in an unit is the banner bearers.

I think they were all 15+ or 20+ to cast depending on the spell.

I might be wrong,but those sound like some of the cataclysm spells from Storm of Magic (can't check the book,not at home right now)

So there is a sample in the Itunes store of the End Times Khaine Book with the section on Malekith the Eternity King.

It goes through how everything that Malekith endured prior to walking through the flames was just a test from Asuryan. Won't go into that.

However at the end of this section it goes on to say how Teclis schemed to unmake the Great Vortex and use it's power to make eight chosen mortals the EQUAL of the chaos gods. Eight corresponding to the 8 lores of magic. He intended to bind Fire to Malekith thus completing his transformation into a "beacon of light and hope" but instead treachery and misfortune ended up binding Shadow to him instead.

So Malekith is the chosen of Shadow. Nagash of Death. Alarielle of Life. And perhaps Karl Franz is perhaps Light? That leaves us with Fire, Metal, Beasts, and Heavens. Hopefully one of the dwarf characters takes on one of these lores. I cannot imagine anything other than metal.

REALLY excited as to where this is going.

RUMOURS (SPOILER ALERT):

Malekith has 2 profiles, 1 for him being Phoenix King, the other for him being the Eternity King. One is 1000 points, the other 800. Some pretty sick rules here: Loremaster Shadow, L5 Wizard, immune to multiple wounds, 10 attacks doing d3+1 wound, innate ability which is basically Walk Between Worlds boosted (once every turn and it's not a spell => no dispel or anything like that can be made), all units within X inches have martial prowess increased to yet another rank and murderous prowess troops can re-roll any failed to wound rolls.

Widowmaker on Tyrion: Auto-wounds, no armour saves, D6 wounds. Cannot be destroyed.

Imrik has a combined profile with the Star Lance, he clocks in at 800 ish points with 10 S7 attacks.

I'm working on confirming some of these, hoping to check back later with confirmed stuff



CONFIRMED LEAK ON TYRION:

Tyrion, avatar of khaine (700 points).

Statline roughly as it is now. Frenzy, units with Murderous Prowess within 12" with re-rolling all failed (not just 1s), immune to psychology, bound spell summoning undead ("summon the glorious dead", basically skellywarriors).

He still has Dragon Armour and Heart of Avelorn and he rides Malhandir. Widowmaker autowounds, no armour saves, D6 wounds. Cannot be destroyed.


CONFIRMED LEAK:

Host of the Eternity King (= Malekith), which is assumed to be the "survivors", has access to all units inn all 3 elven books.


CONFIRMED LEAK:

All units with Murderous Prowess in the Host of the Eternity King also gain Martial Prowess and vice versa.

So PG that fight in 3 ranks, re-rolling 1s to wound (re-roll all failed to wound rolls within 6" of a cauldron of blood)?

've blown through the ebook, so I'll attempt to allay some of the fears we all had about the fluff going forward. I feel Thorpe actually avoided tossing away the spirit of the fluff that had come before, like we all had feared he would. First, I like what he did with Malekith. There is no real redemption attempt. Malekith is exposed as a selfish coward. Had he endured a few more moments in the flames, he would have been reborn as his father had been. Teclis straight up calls him out, saying that had he not been too weak to endure the flames, the elves would have been spared 6000 years of civil war. He gets somewhat better, but he's still a prick. Oh, and Tyrion beats his ass, not once, but twice.

Second, the Asur don't suddenly love Malekith and hate Tyrion. The civil war is more nuanced than Malekith vs Tyrion. In fact, for most of the civil war, Malekith remains in hiding while Imrik does the majority of campaigning. Many of those that side with Imrik are not even aware Malekith is still alive. In addition, it doesn't seem like much of the Asur side with him anyway. Caledor and the Phoenix Guard do, and some parts of the other provinces, but for the most part his army is made up of the professional soldiers of the Druchii and the Asrai led by the Everqueen. The Asur seem to mostly take up Tyrion's side or, in increasing numbers as Tyrion gets crazier, flee to Anar's banner, who stays out of the war. And I think it all works. Once Malekith reveals himself, he starts losing more and more allies because, well, everybody hates Malekith. The final gambit is the unmaking of the Vortex. Tyrion beats Malekith in personal combat for the second time, but Anar intervenes, killing Tyrion. True to character, Anar also shoots Malekith, who only survives thanks to becoming the Incarnation of Shadow.

Finally, here's the big one that I'm sure everyone will hate. As speculated, the unmaking of the Vortex does indeed destroy Ulthuan. The survivors are transported by the Everqueen to Athel Loren. That's pretty much where the book ends. Anar and Malekith, both changed by the final battle, make a tentative peace. However, it is pretty clear that Malekith's ability to unite the survivors is very much in question. On a side note, you never actually see Teclis or Morathi bite it. We'll have to wait and see what End Times: Khaine has to say on the matter. Overall, I like the balance of how they united the elven factions. Everybody loses something big, but also has a big part of the remains. The Dark Elves lose Naggaroth, but Malekith becomes Phoenix King and the Incarnation of Shadow. The Asur lose Ulthuan, but the Everqueen survives to become the Incarnation of Life. The Asrai lose Orion, and it is implied that Ariel merges with the Everqueen, but Athel Loren becomes the home to the remaining elves.

Oh and I have no idea what happened to Morathi or Teclis. Their fates are not mentioned post-Vortex.

The End Times, and the First Armybook of 9th Edition



The End Times has really driven Warhammer Fantasy these last few months, and as we approach a new edition rumored to be in May, there are questions about how the End Times will continue or be separate from the 9th edition release.

10th (preorders Fri 2nd) is a blood angels army box with perhaps a new clam pack character in called the sanguine strike force for 105 GBP don't know contents though plus the new vermin lord.

17th Thanquol end times book and mini

24th new unit, armoured rat ogres called stormfiends plus clam pack warlord and grey seer and re release of old I think in metal oddly warlock engineers

OK, have the WD for the Vermin Lords. Not a fantasy player, so I can't interprit this.
Has pictures and rules for all the 5 builds:
All have Daemon, Daemon attacks, L4 Wizard, 5+ ward, LArge Target, ItP, Scurry Away, Terror.

Warpseer has the Doom Glaive (multiple wounds d3) and Scry Orb, which grants +1 Ward or can be thrown to make a I test or die small blast.
Warp Lightning is known spell with rerolls. Cheapest.

Deciever is clan Eshin linked, has Warp Stiletto (AP, poison) and Doomstar (S user, 12" poisoned attacks, quick to fire, Arcing Death)
Skitterleap as known spell. Cheapest

Corruptor- Pestilens linked. Plague Reaper pair- ASF rule.
Plague is known spell. Cheapest

Warbringer- Warlord Clans. Doomglaive and punch dagger (Killing Blow + d3 wounds. Death Frenzy as known spell. 25 slaves more than cheapest.

Lord Skreech- Doom Glaive (d3 wounds) and Plague Reaper (ASF) choose which to fight with at start of CC phase. Dreaded 13th is known spell. Most Expensive.
